SIA Close Protection Course (April 2025)
The April 2025 SIA Close Protection Officer Training Course starts on the 11th and runs right through to the 28th of April. It is the perfect choice for those who want a career in the security industry with a focus on close protection or bodyguard roles, whether you're a beginner, an experienced security professional, or former armed forces or civilian police personnel, this course is suitable for you.
To undertake this course you must be over 18 years of age and you must have completed (as a minimum) a Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) course and the Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) Security e-learning course.
The course runs for 18 days* and starts at 8:30 am daily with a thirty-minute lunch break, before attending the course we will send you a pre-course workbook, which you need to complete before attending the course.
Upon completion of the course and after your exams have been marked, you will receive your certificate, which will allow you to apply for your SIA licence, applying for your licence is relatively straight with a detailed guide on our blog page should you need some help in applying.

- The cost of an SIA licence is currently is £184.00.
- SIA Licence will last for three years before it needs to be renewed.
- The SIA Close Protection course is a mixture of PowerPoint presentations and practical assessments.
- You will have six multi-choice question (MCQ) exams, which you need to pass to complete the course.
- Learners will also need to hold a minimum of a First Aid at Work (3 day) qualification which has no less than 12 months validity before the start date of their Close Protection course.
- Our course delivery team are professional instructors who have worked at the highest levels within the industry.
- Pre-hospital qualifications are not necessary but are encouraged.
* The minimum time stated by the awarding body (QNUK) to complete the SIA Close Protection (CP) Course is 18 days, it is important that you understand this 18 days does not include any first aid training, we can if required provide you with a first aid qualification which depending on your choice of course will take three to five days to complete, all first aid or pre-hospital courses must be completed prior to attending the CP course
